Simple syrup is a must have for any home bar as it provides an easy way to sweeten a drink.

To make simple syrup:

Boil 1 part water.

Turn heat to low and add 1 part sugar.

Stir until sugar is all the way dissolved.

If you won’t be using all of the simple syrup right away add a little bit of vodka.

Once the simple syrup is cooled, transfer it to a bottle or a jar.

Simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for about a week.

To make rich simple syrup, follow the directions above except do 2 parts sugar to one part water.

    Fun fact: if you just put the sugar in the GLASS jar, boil the water, pour into the container with sugar. Cover, and shake (with mitts or kitchen towel). Sugar will dissolve in a few shakes and you can pour in the vodka. Follow same cooling/ storage instructions and voila! An even simpler simple sugar recipe! 🙂

      That is another way to make simple syrup. Whatever works as long as the sugar is dissolved.
