Maestro Dobel Tequila {and a Seeing Dobel Cocktail}

I believe that if you’re going to drink tequila, it should be a quality tequila. While some mixtos like Hussong’s Tequila are alright, there’s really no comparing them to 100% agave tequila such as Maestro Dobel Tequila.

Not sure about the differences between mixto and 100% agave tequila? Read up on tequila facts that you should know.

About Maestro Dobel Tequila

Maestro Dobel Tequila is an 80 proof clear reposado tequila, created from a blend of 100% agave reposado, anejo and extra anejo tequilas. It is double distilled, matured in Hungarian white oak barrels and filtered to create the clear color. So it looks like a blanco tequila but it’s not. Maestro Dobel calls this “Diamante” or Diamond.

On the nose, Maestro Dobel Tequila is fruity with notes of agave. As far as taste, I get notes of honey and agave with a little bit of peppery spice. There are also hints of caramel, butterscotch and fruit – maybe melon. The taste finishes smooth and a little smokey. It’s a very good blend of flavors for a tequila and it doesn’t burn going down like the cheap stuff.

Maestro Dobel Tequila Cocktail Recipes

The first drink recipe I tried with my bottle of Dobel Tequila was a Cadillac Margarita. It was fabulous to say the least. As a premium tequila, it can be used in any of your favorite tequila cocktails, enjoyed neat or on the rocks. I suggest you also try it in this smoked salt and pineapple cocktail that I’ve named Seeing Dobel.
