Salty Lemonade Tequila Cocktails

I’m a big fan of tequila with salt. That’s why I really, really love today’s salty lemon tequila cocktails. And I’m 102.4% sure you will love them too. And if you don’t… well then I guess I’ll tell you to check out the Basil Lemon Vodka Cocktail instead.

The idea for these lemon tequila cocktails with salt came from a menu I saw at a restaurant. There version was non-alcoholic so I didn’t try it. Why would I want to drink something without booze?

Anyway, the minute I saw the name Salty Lemonade I knew it would be a great mixed drink with tequila. Especially since I had already proved tequila and lemon played nicely together in the Meyer Lemon Infused Tequila.

I thought about using bottled lemonade for the cocktails until I read how much sugar was in the bottle. It was something insanely high. And that was on the natural, organic stuff. I just couldn’t bring myself to use it.

Instead, I got out the juicer and fresh squeezed my own lemons. The real things always taste better anyway.

To balance out the salt and the citrus, I used agave nectar. For this part, add according to your tastes. As some like drinks to be sweeter than others.
